Tri ethylene glycol (TEG)

Triethylene glycol (TEG) is an organic compound belonging to the glycol family. It serves primarily as a solvent. TEG is produced by ethoxylation of diethylene glycol and is often obtained as a by-product in the large-scale production of ethylene glycol.

TEG is a colorless liquid with a high boiling point (291 °C) for heat-resistant applications. It absorbs moisture (hygroscopic) and mixes well with water. While soluble in many organic solvents, it avoids oils, fats, and most
hydrocarbons.
Application:
  • Moisture Absorber: TEG’s ability to attract moisture (hygroscopic) makes it useful in various ways:
    • Fog generation in special effects
    • Humectant to retain moisture in tobacco and printing inks
    • Dehydrating agent for drying natural gas
  • High-Temperature Solvent: TEG’s high boiling point makes it a valuable solvent for hot industrial processes.
  • Potential Disinfectant: While research is ongoing, TEG may have some antibacterial properties and could be used for air disinfection.

At Peliswan Impex, we focus on delivering high-quality and safe chemical products. Our Tri ethylene Glycol (TEG) is carefully manufactured and handled to meet the specific requirements of our clients in different industries.
